Who Are We?We are fans of Jimmy Buffett and the trop rock music genre and lifestyle he helped establish. The club received its charter from Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc. (the national organization) in December of 1995. Our club belongs to the South Region of PHIP, which is currently made up of 27 clubs. The lifestyle we live around the lake, bay, and on Galveston Island is perfectly in sync with the philosophies of a true Parrot Head and our activities tend to center around that. Our club works to raise money and collect supplies, along with donating our time and talent in support of local and national causes and charities. Since our birth in 1995, the club has grown to more than 500 members with new members joining each week. Since 2011, our club has donated over $545,000 to charities! | In 2025 alone, we did 2,665 hours of volunteer work for our community. |

| Ahoy, Phlock! Hoist the Colors — September Be Here! 🏴☠️ Can you guess what’s on the horizon this month? Arrr… you guessed it! September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! What began in 1995 as a lighthearted joke between two friends from Albany, Oregon — John Baur (“Ol’ Chumbucket”) and Mark Summers (“Cap’n Slappy”) — has grown into an annual excuse for landlubbers everywhere to throw in an “Arrr!” or two and embrace their inner pirate. And, of course, September begins with Labor Day — summer’s traditional last hurrah! How does your crew celebrate? Best done with Phriends and Phamily. And lest we forget, September also brings a change of seasons. The autumnal equinox arrives September 22nd, when the sun crosses the celestial equator, marking the official begin ning of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. The days begin getting shorter, temperatures eventually start easing, and another season of adventures awaits. So, hoist the colors, enjoy summer’s final days, and get ready for everything September has in store. Fins Up, Phlock — and fair winds into fall! 🦜🏴☠️🌴
